Welcome to GROW at Glenforest School, one of our country’s newest post-secondary program for students with learning differences and anxiety disorders.

Ours is a Program with a long-standing commitment to diversity. Through the contributions of many institutions, parents, teachers and students, we have built a Program that will be known for its diversity of people, heritage, and academic disciplines en route for driving students with learning differences to grow by going beyond their ambitions, realizing self-worth and achieving their utmost potential.

To meet society’s needs, the GROW program must draw upon the perspectives of faculty, students, staff and program sessions from around our state, and our nation, too.

I firmly believe we learn some of life’s most important lessons from each other. The more varied the perspectives represented, the richer our education. Our differences bring optimism for students to receive a high degree of individual attention as they develop self-understanding, self-advocacy, and lifelong learning skills, and learn to function independently in ordinary settings.

I am proud to belong to an academic community that at all times has embraced learning disabilities and is as steadfast about this ideal as it was during its earliest days in 1983 at Distinctive Education Center alongside Dr. Glenda Sternberg. I invite you to join our remarkable community and its appreciation of the viewpoints and contributions of every single student with learning differences.

Sincerely,

Guillermo J. Ramis
